About The Directory of Social Change

The Directory of Social Change (DSC) is an independent charity with a vision of an independent voluntary sector at the heart of social change.

We achieve this by providing essential information and training for the UK voluntary and community sectors, to enable charities achieve their mission.

Since we started in 1974, we have been running courses and publishing books on fundraising, management, organisational and personal development, communication, finance and law.

We contribute towards positive social change by:

• Championing the needs of small and medium voluntary sector organisations
• Providing practical training courses including the Fundraising Programme in partnership with the Institute of Fundraising.
• Running conferences, seminars, briefings and Charityfair (the biggest annual forum for the sector)
• Researching and publishing reference guides and handbooks
• Providing the subscription websites, www.trustfunding.org.uk, www.governmentfunding.org.uk, www.companygiving.org.uk and www.grantsforindividuals.org.uk , which enable charities to access sustainable and broad-based sources of revenue
• Producing a free monthly e-newsletter packed with information and special offers - subscribe to DSC e-news
